Meet The Team

Our team consists of two Carers Support Officers, Fiona Forsyth and Yakini Johnson as well a full compliment of background staff.
Fiona and Yakini take the service out to different venues across Luton and can even visit Carers in their own homes if necessary.

Meet The Team

Yakini Johnson

Yakini brings a wide range of knowledge of Carers Services and the support available to carers from her previous role as a Disability Advice Service Assistant.
Yakini is a good listener with a warm personality and is very aware, and empathetic to the needs of Carers and how their caring role affects their daily life.
Yakini is a wife and mother of two children, and has been a part of the Disability Advice Service team at the Disability Resource Centre for the past two and a half years, before moving over to the Confident Carers Service.

Meet The Team

Fiona Forsyth

Fiona is a qualified Midwife with a B.A. in Womens Health, and has recent qualifications in fitness and Aqua-Natal Midwifery.
Her working experience has included roles as a Midwife, a Case Manager at Stoke Mandeville National Spinal Injuries Centre and recently as a Fitness Instructor.
Working as as part of a multi-disciplinary team, Fiona helped to set-up the midwifery services at the Sure Start Children’s Centre which provides education and health courses for disadvantaged children.
Fiona is a busy mum of three children and when she gets the time is an avid reader.
